Grown and harvested by Dave in his amazing garlic garden. Dave grows his garlic without any artificial fertilizer or chemicals of any kind and hand braids each one himself.
A bag weighs one pound and contains about 9 to 12 heads of garlic.
This year Dave grew a garlic variety called Music. Music garlic is a hard-neck variety; identified by a stiff, woody stem running through the center of the bulb. Each bulb is tightly wrapped in layers of porcelain white, thin, papery skin and contains an average of 5 to 7 extra large cloves per bulb. White skinned with just a blush of pink, the Music variety produces big cloves that are easy to peel and have a long shelf life. The taste is a medium hot, true garlic flavor.
A garlic braid is perfect for keeping the werewolves AWAY. European folklore says garlic has the ability to ward off the “evil eye", devils, werewolves, and vampires. To ward off vampires, garlic should be worn on one's person, hung in windows, or rubbed on chimneys and keyholes. Good to know.
