Beef back ribs come from just behind the shoulder of the animal. They are the same ribs that you find on a standing rib roast. The ribs are separated from the prime rib section to create 2 cuts: beef back ribs, boneless prime rib roasts, and ribeye steaks.
Beef ribs are a delightfully tasty meat treat whether they are oven roasted, grilled, or smoked. BUT, don't forget ribs require a low, slow approach for the best result.
Season simply with salt and pep, your favorite dry rub, or finish with barbeque sauce - done right, the flavor is robustly beefy and the meat surrounding the rib bones is rich and succulent.
TAKE YOUR TIME WITH BEEF RIBS!!! Too hot or too fast and you'll be disappointed by tough, stringy meat.
Please note that these are not the meatiest ribs - unlike short ribs, or plate ribs. So, be sure to pick up an extra rack to ensure you have enough for all the carnivores at your table.
