Our bacon is not what you might be used to. It is lean and meaty, made from pasture raised hogs that have lived their entire lives outside in the fresh air and sunshine.
The flavor of our pork is influenced by what our pigs eat in the field and on the forest floor. But, what they find in the pasture is not enough to grow a pig and keep it healthy. Our hogs are fed a non-GMO feed blend of wheat, barley and toasted soybeans.
Bacon is made by brining and smoking a whole pasture-raised pork belly.
Each slice is the perfect combination of lean meat, pork fat and smokey deliciousness.
Bacon is so easy to prepare. Pan fry til crisp or spread slices on a cookie sheet and bake in a hot oven at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes then turn each slice and finish in the oven to your desired level of crispiness.
Each package of Red House Ranch American-style side bacon weighs one pound which is enough for three to four servings.
