We are thrilled to bring you whole chickens from our friends Lawrence and Livia of Outryder farms in Interlaken, NY. They care for their land and livestock just like we do - with the long term health of people, animals, soil, and planet always a priority.
Their birds are humanely raised outdoors on pasture every day, without antibiotics, hormones or steroids. They are fed organic grains and never fed any animal by-products. You can see and taste the difference!
Outryder farms is raising chickens called Red Rangers. These are not your ordinary birds. Red Rangers are honest to goodness gourmet chickens that are slow growing. It takes about 10 weeks to raise Red Rangers to maturity. They perform better on pasture than the classic white leghorn birds that everyone else raises. These birds are absolutely delicious - and you won't find them in a grocery store.
Whether you're oven roasting, making beer-can chicken, or spatchcocking your bird for the grill - organic Red Ranger chicken from Outryder Farm simply can't be beat.
These chickens are raised by Outryder Farms in collaboration with the Finger Lakes Cider House.
