Farm News - July 2025

A crazy hot thunderstorm.

Every summer a few thunderstorms blow through and bring torrential rain, high winds, and lots of thunder and lightning often followed by an incredible rainbow.

But last week's storm was particularly intense. It came through with straight line winds that flipped an egg mobile filled with our newest flock of layers.

The ladies had a rough night out on the pasture without cover.

The hen house could not be saved but, the good news is we only lost a few chickens and within a day they were resettled into a new home.

The hens went back to laying eggs as if nothing had happened.
