Danish Meat Balls - Frikadeller
Danish Meat Balls are simply delicious. Made with pasture raised ground pork and a few other basic ingredients you're sure to have on hand, this meal-time fav can be prepared very quickly. Frikadeller pair well with any veg but are traditionally served with potatoes and red cabbage. Better make extra - your family is sure to ask for more.

Ingredients

  • (2 pounds) Pasture Raised Ground Pork
  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 2 slices white bread, soaked in milk or substitute 1/2 cup oatmeal for GF

  • Butter for the pan - about 1/4 cup.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients by hand or in your stand mixer.
  2. Shape into egg-shaped balls and saute in melted butter til all sides are nicely browned and no pink remains.
  3. In a hurry? Lightly brown and transfer meat balls to a baking pan and finish in a 350 degree, pre-heated oven.
  4. Traditionally Danish Meat Balls are quite large; as big as an extra-large egg.
  5. Frikadeller can easily be frozen for future meals.
  6. Serve with your favorite veg or with a fresh green salad.
